Assalamu Alaikum(Peace be with you),
I’m a young Muslim from Kerala,India keen in discussions about the spiritual side of Islam(in case You think Islam has other sides).
I took engineering graduation in Applied Electronics and Instrumentaton and now working as a software engineer.
Eventhough I was born to Muslim Parents, I landed up in atheism and the resulting ‘individualism’ during my adolescence. One can have faith only after knowing and experiencing. Lineage provides neither.. But the questions of the atheist that was me got completely answered once I got to know my Shaikh(Peer). So to be correct, I must say I EMBRACED Islam four years ago. Allah has put me in the blessed Qadiri Chishti Tareeqas. That’s for the time being..
Allah Hafiz(May Allah Guard You).
I hope in your new blog that you find your new learning experiences. By the way why can’t we leave comments there?
I didn’t get You.. Isn’t what you entered above a comment?
yeh but on your new blog you can’t. or is this your new blog?
yea.. This is my new blog. abdulmuneer.wordpress.com
The ‘insider’ page is for personal details such as profile..
Salaams, one and all…
May Allah bless you all the days of your life and beyond.
Ma sha Allah! An interesting tale for sure. You know, the more I think about it, the more I’m convinced that we’re all converts. At some point in their lives, EVERYONE has to decide whether they want to follow Islam, regardless of whether they’ve been to exposed to it previously or not.
Ya Haqq!

Salaam Dear Abdul Bhai:
Blessings on your excellent blog. You do us all a great service with it.
As to your question in a comment on Darvish:
You are thinking of our brother Matt and his Notions of a Purple Ontology blog. The Shibly story is in the October 4th, 2006 post, so just scroll down the page until you get to it. It is a famous story from Attar’s Memorial of the Saints:

Ya Haqq!
Salams Irving bhai,
May Allah take this blog forward. Pray for me..
Allah hafiz.
Salaams Br. Abdul Muneer,
Alhamdulillah!
You have a great blog!
May Allah Taala always bless your efforts and reward your deeds in this life and the hereafter. Ameen
Since you and br. Shibily are from Kerala, i’m just curious to ask if any of you have visited the oldest Mosque Cheraman Juma Masjid. It was built originally in 629 CE and named after the Hindu King, who was the first Muslim convert from India. He had met Prophet Muhammad(SAW) after witnessing a miracle of the splitting of the Moon, also mentioned in the Quran.
The details are on this site

SubhanAllah, isn’t this so amazing!!!
Jazaak Allah Khair,

Va alaikumussalam SF.
Ameen for your Duas.. May Allah guide us all to Him. And thank you for your words. I haven’t visited the mosque yet. Indeed keralites are honoured to have Malik-ibnu-Dinar (R.A) visiting here. Malik (R.A) and his team didn’t speak the regional language(Malayalam), didn’t know the culture and nature of the people and didn’t have anyone familiar to them here.
But such was their charishma that they still were well recieved here. They could convey their message completely(!). People converted to Islam with enthusiasm as they saw the life of these Sahabas. The Hindu parents were even willing to give their daughters as their wives. Think of that-in a total strange place these muslims conqured the hearts of the people and won their trust!! If it were not for their greatness, I wouldn’t have had Muslim ancestors. I owe my Islam to their nobility. Such is the power of a true Muslim.
But now, with all familiarity, one is not able to influence others.
The Muslims of the government records remain. The Muslims in the record of Rasool(S.A) are rare.
May Allah increase the true children of Rasool(S.A) ever more.(Aameen)
Love,
Abdul Muneer
Salaams br. Abdul Muneer,
Ameen to your prayer.
Alhamdulillah! Thanks so much for the insight about inspiration of the Sahabas in Kerala.
You are absolutely right, how very few of us live by the virtues and piety of our Rasool(SAW).
MashaAllah, your noble legacy does reflect through your thoughts and posts!
Allah(SWT)make you a role model to inspire others in this generation. Ameen.

Salaams again,
Ameen.
May Allah reward you according to His Mercy.
Dear Brother. Assalam Alaikum. I am lucky to have stopped by your blog. I find your thoughts very simple, yet profound. I am also, like you, born into a Muslim family. I find that either our religion is reduced to rituals or is doubted through reason. Faith and Love are the two essentials that are missing. I hope Insha Allah to benefit from your thoughts and to be able to interact much more with you.
Jazak Allah

Va Alaikumussalam brother.
