Where was I these days?
Assalamu Alaikum,
Allah(SWT) in Qur’an tells us to guard ourselves and our people from hell. The emphasis is in that order. Our Prophet Muhammed (S.A) did it that way. He did not teach anything which he didn’t practice. Ever since the days when he used to visit the cave Hira, he was working on himself. Afterwards, when Allah’s command reached him he turned to his wife Khadija (R.A), Friend Siddique (R.A) and relative Ali (R.A). Then he moved to all other people surrounding him That was the order. Inside out.
But it may not be successful with all people. For example, the wives and children of many a prophets have denounced them. But whatever be the case, one has to start with oneself. If we try to work on others and forget us, it will lead only to our perdition. People in hell will be surprised (shocked) to see a person who always advised them against bad things. He will be in extreme misery. They will ask him “We had great respect for you. We never expected you here. What happened to you?”. “Yes, I used to teach people but I myself didn’t practice it” will be his reply. May Allah guard us from such a situation (Aamin).
I had started writing with the hope that it might be helpful for others. But of what use will it be for me if it feeds my nafs in some or other way? May Allah guard us from such a situation (Aamin). I was advised to take a break right away. And that was it.
