My Prophet

Assalamu Alaikum,

A history student knows that Muhammed(SA) is a prophet of Islam. He knows that the Prophet was born in Mecca to parents Abdullah and Aamina (May Allah be pleased with them). He has learned the biography of Prophet in detail. Including his childhood as an orphan. The Prophet was under the care of Halima(RA) and then of Abu Thalib.

The history student has also learned that the Prophet started preaching Islam since he was 40. He will tell you about Prophet’s messages and the development and growth of Islam in that society. He will tell you about the hardships the Prophet suffered during his mission.

The history student has studied the personal life too. If you want to know about Prophetโ€™s wives and children, ask him.

He will also tell you in detail about the journey he made to Medina, his triumph over Mecca and his last moments on this earth at Medina.

My brother, you boast of being a Muslim. What more than a history student do you know about your Prophet? Is there any knowledge within your heart which is beyond the grasp of historians?

Love,

Abdul Muneer

  1. As salaam alaikum.

This is a great post — history indeed! Allah (swt) and the sunnah of The Prophet (saws) call us to massive action!

    Jazak allahu khair,

    nuh ibn

  2. Salaams brother,

    Alhamdulillah! Thought-provoking post!
Excellent way to express that our Prophet(SAW) is way way above being just a historical personality.

‘Prophet(SAW)represents the point of contact between the Divine and the human. So far as the source of the Prophet’s revelation is concerned he belongs to the ancient world, so far as the spirit of the revelation is concerned he belongs to the modern world.’
    -Allama Iqbal.

By following the Quran and his Sunnah, may Allah(SWT) enlighten our hearts by His timeless
presence through our beloved Rasool(SAW). Ameen

    Jazaak Allah Khair

    Thank You everyone.
sf: Thank you for quoting Iqbal(R.A). Ishq towards Rasool was the essence of his life. He knew a great deal about our Prophet. May Allah bless him ever.

  5. Alhamdulillah! What an excellent post ๐Ÿ™‚ If one cannot feel the Prophet (pbuh) through his hadiths, feel his love and compassion, his honesty and love of truth, his mercy toward his enemies, his kindness and gentleness, then he knows nothing of him, no matter how much he has read and memorized. Your point is well taken, dear Bhai. May Allah bless you for enlightening us all.

    Ya Haqq!
