Delusions about one’s noble qualities

Bismillahi-aRrahman-aRraheem,

In the great deluge during Noah (A), there was a mother trying to save her child. She kept holding the baby above the water as the level kept rising. Once the water rose above her own nose, she was struggling for her own life and put the baby down and stood on top of him.

One may speak in exotic ways about his/her ‘kindness’ or ‘love’ for others. One may even be ready to die for those. But the reality of their self proclaimed ‘love’ and ‘kindness’ will be known only at the moment they face their death.

May Allah help us save from the delusions of this world help seek His mercy.

  1. Ameen! A most apt post, brother. Today I saw on the news the story of three fishermen in Chile who saved twenty people by sailing them away in their boat when the Tsunami hit, and in doing so lost their own lives. One of them yelled to his mother on the boat, after she begged to stop helping and come on the boat to safety: “I cannot live with myself knowing I could have saved more people and did not. If I die, it is God’s will. Remember that I love you!”

Alhamdulillah! May the three fishermen, who in the end became true fishers of men, be raised to the first ranks of Allah’s beloveds. Ameen.

    Ya Haqq!
