Beloved Hajra (R.A)

Zamzam Well in Mecca Saudi Arabia

Zamzam Well

Assalamu Alaikum,

Thousands of people run around searching for water in many places on earth. But what was the difference with Hajra(R.A) (Hagar in English usage) that her search between Safa and Marwa was so special to her Lord?

Those who search for water search for mere that

But Hajra’s quest was for her Lord’s help.

She was in need, She had asked and of course,

She was restless in her search for the Beloved’s reply.

She searched in Safa, in Marwa and in between,

She walked, then ran to and forth, again and again.

Her lord did reply and how! She finally had to say Zam Zam!

Hajra(R.A)’s search was not for mere water but for Allah’s help! There is a difference between searching for water and searching to find out how Allah’s help is coming after asking Him for the help. The difference is emphasized by none other than Allah and imitating her action is an integral part of Hajj!

Her external acts seem very worldly, but the state of her heart and intention of her acts were purely in union with her Lord. Allah loved her longing and faith so much so that He made it a means for forgiveness for all His servants who imitate her run between the two mounts. Allah replied to her prayer in abundance till eternity and right at the feet of her thirsting son!

Meanwhile many a people who search for mere water die with or without getting it..

Mercy Manifested..

Assalamu Alaikum,

A female leopard hunts a pregnant female baboon. While the leopard was dragging the baboon, the baboon delivers a baby. Leopard leaves the hunted mother and starts taking care of the newborn baboon. Watch this amazing video from National geographic.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah  (Choicest blessing and peace be upon him) said, “Allah has divided mercy into one hundred parts; and He retained with Him ninety-nine parts, and sent down to earth one part. Through this one part creatures deal with one another with compassion, so much so that an animal lifts its hoof over its young lest it should hurt it”.

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Ya Rahman, we are all blessed with your Mercy.

Layers of knowledge and Understanding.

Bismillahi Arrahmani-rraheem..

Assalamu Alaikum ,

Three people, one totally blind the second a colour blind and the third with normal sight live in the same place. But no matter how much you talk to the blind, he cannot understand the concept of ‘seeing’. You can never make him understand what a ‘colour’  or ‘shade’ is. A colour blind person cannot understand colours, but he can understand shades. The normal people see things normally. So three different people ‘sees’ the world differently.

Even though they live at the very same place, one is living in a different world from the other. Think of the case when a blind person suddenly gets sight or a colour blind person gets the ability to see colours. Even though at the very same place, it wouldn’t be same any more for them. In fact it will be nothing like what they perceived or imagined before. They will be joining the ‘world’ of the third man thereafter.

This is the difference we get to experience when Allah opens up our heart and gives us a new ‘sight’ (which is why we we call ‘insight’). There are so so many layers of knowledge, awakening and enlightenment which gets revealed one after the other. And it is a supreme pleasure when Allah opens it. They form to be the new guidance and the new light with which you can live in the hitherto unknown ‘world’.

And at such moments I feel the rush of communicating it to others but I’m completely stuck. I know for sure that even if I speak out, they will not pick it up.

tworoses2When a family goes to watch a romantic movie, different people pick it up differently. For a child, he has his own understanding of the love portrayed in that movie. And for his mind, that is a complete understanding.. But grown up people are influenced in a totally different way.
It is of no use for a grown up man to try to convey the message of it to a child. The child’s understanding is going to be totally different. See how knowledge is protected!! Even if you try your best, you cannot transfer it to everyone. Allah will raise that child, cause changes in his body and heart and then he himself will start knowing those things!

reflection

It is the same way in spiritual understandings too. Thus Allah holds full copyright over his secrets!!  Such knowledge will reside only in the hearts which Allah chooses. May Allah include us all among such people.

The great Shaikh Abdul Qader Gilani (R.A.) (also called Ghousul A’zam) had said ” Allah has opened for me seventy doors within each knowledge. And each of the doors are as wide as to include the sky and the earth.”

Ali (R.A.) told,”If I were to write down my understanding of Al-Fathiha, it would be bulkier for seventy camels to carry it.” See, Al-Fathiha is after all a very small chapter in Qur’an with only seven verses. What is there in it which if you write down will be running into tons of pages? That was the knowledge residing in the heart of Ali (R.A.).

Our Prophet (S.A.) had once recited Bismi (meaning: In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. ) in prayer  twenty times where as it is recited normally only once. Each time it was recited at a different level, with a different state and understandings.

Where are those meanings? For us the entire Qur’an, let alone Fatiha, is only one small book.

My Prophet…2

Assalamu Alaikum,

When Rasool(S.A) was walking with a few companions (R.A), a non believer lady called him ‘muaddam’.

Allah gave Nabi the name Muhammed (S.A). Nobody had this name untill prophet’s birth. This name means ‘the praised’. Even when we say Al Hamdulillah which means all praise belongs to Allah, Rasool is also called ‘Praised’. No other creation has this status.

Now she has called exactly the opposite..
Rasool(S.A.) didn’t pay any attention but Sahaba (companions) were furious. Noticing this, Rasool told the Sahaba, “Allah has given me the name Muhammed and not muaddam. How did it occur to you that she was calling me when she shouted ‘muaddam’?

On hearing this from Rasool, the fury of Sahaba got vanished.

Disarmed and humiliated, the lady immediately shouted “O Muhammed, I meant you only”.
Rasool replied ,”Yes, Muhammed- that is me. Muaddam- I don’t know him”.

May Allah send His Blessing on our Rasool.

My Prophet

Assalamu Alaikum,

A history student knows that Muhammed(SA) is a prophet of Islam. He knows that the Prophet was born in Mecca to parents Abdullah and Aamina (May Allah be pleased with them). He has learned the biography of Prophet in detail. Including his childhood as an orphan. The Prophet was under the care of Halima(RA) and then of Abu Thalib.

The history student has also learned that the Prophet started preaching Islam since he was 40. He will tell you about Prophet’s messages and the development and growth of Islam in that society. He will tell you about the hardships the Prophet suffered during his mission.

The history student has studied the personal life too. If you want to know about Prophet’s wives and children, ask him.

He will also tell you in detail about the journey he made to Medina, his triumph over Mecca and his last moments on this earth at Medina.

My brother, you boast of being a Muslim. What more than a history student do you know about your Prophet? Is there any knowledge within your heart which is beyond the grasp of historians?

Abdul Muneer

Khalifa Ali (RA)

Assalamu Alaikum,

In a battle, Islam’s fourth Khalifa Ali (RA) had almost conquered an attacker. Ali (RA) had got on top of the befallen enemy and was about to kill. It was then the other guy spat on Khalifa’s holy face. To his extreme surprise, Ali (RA) quickly got up and left. Unable to perceive this gesture he went back to Ali (RA) and asked explanation,” One would have killed me at once. I made such a provocation and you instead left me free. What made you do that?”

The Khalifa replied, “I’m fighting for the sake of Allah and acting according to His will. When you spat on my face, I got angry. If I were to kill you then, it would have been out of my anger. I would be guilty in front of Allah for ending the life of a human for my sake.”

That was the level of purification Rasool (SAW) gave to his disciples. It was a test from Allah and Ali (RA) could recognize it in that very nick of time. He never ever let his nafs take over him. Any ordinary man would have failed there.

If we are not purified like that, our first job is to attain that purification. Fighting against our own nafs is the real fight. Rasool (SAW) described it as the greatest battle.

But what is happening now? Fanatics, powered by nafs and fuelled by shaithan, hijack Islam. They call themselves Jihadis. They say they are fighting for Religion. But what they really do is just venting their cultivated anger and hatred. They will have to answer before the Lord for killing His creations and destroying His Religion.

In Islam anger and hatred towards the creations of Allah has no place. Even a tree should not be cut without a proper cause.

Abdul Muneer's Corner

If it was not for His immeasurable Love toward the creations of Allah, lakhs of people wouldn’t have surrendered their hearts and whatever else they had at the feet of Rasool (SAW).

May Allah guard His Deen through us, May Allah make us true copies of our beloved Prophet (SAW). Aamin.

Love,

Abdul Muneer

A Mother in Deluge..

Assalamu Alaikum,

Abdul Muneer's Corner

During the deluge in Prophet Nuh(A)’s period, a mother kept holding her child above the water level. She was all worried about her kid and held the baby above water as the level kept rising. But when the water rose above her nose, she dropped the kid and stood on top!!

We love others because of the Love Allah placed in us. It is Allah’s love, not ours. What if Allah takes it out of our heart? Will we still be loving?..
Being loved is a blessing, but having love for others is a much greater blessing. Let us not be in ‘shirk’ by attributing the love in our heart to ourselves..

Let a father think not that he has love for his children. Instead let him thank Allah for giving him a taste of the Love Allah has for His servants.

Let a lover realize the real caretaker of his/her soulmate.

Let a friend realize the the Friendship Allah shares with his/her friend.

What am I but an instrument in the Hands of the Musician?

Allah, thank You… Indeed You are the treasure of all precious jewels.

A Prayer of Rasool (SAW)

Assalamu Alaikum everyone..

Today I am alone in my house. While sitting in the toilet came to my mind what my Shaykh would often remind me and other fellow seekers about. “What would have happened if Allah had taken away the strength from you? How will you got toilet everyday?”.

I am alone. Can I get up and fulfill it in a decent manner? Even if people were there to help, what would the situation look like?

I visualized two people taking me to toilet by supporting on underarms.. It’s not like supporting one when he is in normal health. They’ve to hold strongly to avoid falling down -you’ll feel pain.

They would have to keep holding me throughout the business. They would have to stand through the odour. They would be seeing my private parts.

And they themselves would have to clean me.

For how long would people suffer me even if they were my dear and near ones.. Of course they would be in distress. But seeing them doing all these, I would be in more distress. My parents and relatives eventually would prefer my death to my prolonged life in such state.

Yes, no one would love a paralized person for long..

But then, in reality, aren’t everyone paralyzed? Isn’t it Allah who gives us power.. If we truly possess the power to perform actions, why are we not to able to keep it for ever?

Allah has no problem with us. He finds us void of all powers and gives us everything. Others turn away at the sight of even one deficiency. It is Allah who truly loves.

He takes me toilet, supports me and does all service to me. Is there anyone who serves us better than Allah? Even though he is Most Supreme, He is the most loyal servant of us in His actions.

Allah helps me to perform those needs of me in the most decent manner.

How would we thank him for His blessings? Will our deeds match His blessings? We are thankless..

It was for this reason that Prophet of Allah (SAW) prayed “O Allah, forgive me. All praise for You who eased me out of this distress”.

I till now hadn’t understood the significance of asking forgivness.

May Allah bless my beloved Shaykh.

Love,

Abdul Muneer

TWO PROPHETS AND ONE LESSON..

Assalamu Alaikum,

Today, the Imam during Friday Qutubah (Speech) told: Nabi Yusuf (Alaihissalam) asked help from one of his fellow prisoners. Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihissalam) refused to turn to the ‘creations’ and left things to his Friend Allah(SWT) even when thrown into fire.

Ibrahim (A) got timely help. Yusuf (A) had to stay in prison for much much longer.

OF BURDENS..

Assalamu Alaikum..

Allah gave me three sentences today to present to my loved ones. They are:

  • Allah has declared that he has only khair (good) in his hand.
  • Prophet Muhammed (S.A) used to pray to Allah not to leave anything for Prophet (S.A) to take care of even for the duration of an eyeblink.
  • This teaches us that our burdens are self chosen.

I know Allah has filled my heart with some amount of love for you people. Otherwise I wouldn’t be loving you..

Love,

Abdul Muneer
